MILLIONS!

There are millions of orphans in our world. That's millions of innocent children with no one committed to loving and teaching them as they grow. Far too many children aging out of their orphanages each year and expected to fend for themselves with no support and a great deal of stigma against their orphan status. There are many children with health issues who do not receive the medical care they need to survive or thrive. We believe that God, who offers to love and adopt each of us and meet our every need, longs for us to go and do the same. There are many hurting people in this world and many ways to help and we certainly don't expect that every person will pursue adoption. We do hope that more will.

Her bedroom is ready!

We don't know whose bedroom yet but it's ready.  Hope she likes pink.  And birds.
We have been blessed to have connected with the family adopting the little girl we thought would be ours.  They are lovely people who also love Jesus!  An interesting tidbit :  As I was trying to choose a name for the girl I thought would be our daughter, one name kept jumping in my head.  It was not a name I wanted but it turns out it IS her new name.  Perhaps we were called to hold this little one up in prayer while her family was preparing to go meet her.  We are really happy for "our " girl and for this family and we're thrilled that we can begin a relationship with them.
We are continuing on with our journey.  There are other children needing homes and we'll see where God leads us.  It has been amazing to follow several people's Ukraine adoption journeys and to see the absolutely amazing difference in these children once they have a family and know they are loved and special to someone.  It is a beautiful thing.  A bit of the kingdom of heaven here on earth.

  1. The room looks great! I really like the bedding. I love the testimony about the name thing. God really is amazing, and whoever it is He has picked for your family, she is already blessed!

  2. Wow, what an incredible story! I heard what her name will be changed to and it's not one you hear all the time! Talk about the Lord showing you He's in control and He's got you in all this! I love when He works in those ways. The room is adorable! A precious little girl will be there soon! Blessings! Christie
