MILLIONS!

There are millions of orphans in our world. That's millions of innocent children with no one committed to loving and teaching them as they grow. Far too many children aging out of their orphanages each year and expected to fend for themselves with no support and a great deal of stigma against their orphan status. There are many children with health issues who do not receive the medical care they need to survive or thrive. We believe that God, who offers to love and adopt each of us and meet our every need, longs for us to go and do the same. There are many hurting people in this world and many ways to help and we certainly don't expect that every person will pursue adoption. We do hope that more will.

Getting to know each other

Our visits with Lucy have been going really well.  Still stuck in the same little room but we're seeing really positive changes in her.  She has become more affectionate, is seeking cuddles more, doesn't have to protect and gobble down all her food at once, is repeating English words and is showing a fun sense of humour!  We are really looking forward to  "springing"  her from the orphanage next week.

We continue to look for ways to fill our mornings.  The Ironworks park was a very pleasant and interesting place to discover.

John and I liked the conversation chair.

Shye preferred horseback riding.

Thank you for continued prayers.  We need them.  Yesterday was very sobering as there was a person hit by a car right next to our apartment and he was killed.  Sadly, we were heading to the orphanage and passed by while he was still there.  This is the second person we've seen laying in the road after being hit.  It made us very sad and has been hard to shake.  The roads are quite precarious for pedestrians and passengers alike.  Anyways, every day has good and difficulty and we are thankful or those of you who pray and encourage us.

  1. Hi! I'm so happy that the visits are going well. Also happy that you are finding some other things to do - you must! I am so sorry things are going so slowly and that you have to play the waiting game so much. Praying that you will hear positive answers in the next few days and be able to take our little one out of the orphanage.
I love the look of the Iron park - wonderful! So nice to see the girls doing crafts - cute Thanksgiving basket Lucy is holding. She is going to love living in your home!!
So sad for you that you had to be near that accident - will pray that you can let that go and just think of the positive, good things ahead. Looking forward to hearing about any further news. love you lots, Mom/Grandma
